General Gururu is the head of the Boazanian military and the secondary antagonist of Chōdenji Machine Voltes V.
Personality[]
General Gururu is overconfident, a fact which often gets in the way of his operations. Because of his overconfidence, he thinks that he can kill Heinel with ease, only to be proven wrong after multiple failed attempts to do so. He also replaces Duke Zaki as Emperor Zu Zambajil's chief inspector who delivers bad news to the latter. Gururu eventually pays for his arrogance, as he and Do Bergan perish in the final battle against Voltes V.
Biography[]
Gururu is the head of the Boazanian military. After Do Bergan's failed multiple times to kill Prince Heinel and was forced to become Zuhl's replacement as Heinel's minion, Gururu is sent to Earth to help him. During the war, he often reports to Emperor Zu Zambajil. At one point, he re-captures Professor Kentaro Goh, but the latter once again manages to escape. Later on, Gururu and Do Bergan betray Heinel and try to blow up Earth with a Magmite Bomb, but this once again fails.
In episode 38, the Voltes team make their way to Boazania. When Zambajil sees them coming, he dispatches Bergan and Gururu to deal with them. While they initially seem victorius, the tides turn when Voltes V overpower them and bypass Sodom and Gomorrah, planet Boazania's defense system. Do Bergan and Gururu die in the battle when their starship is destroyed by the Voltes team.
Eventually, Voltes V and Big Falcon reach Boazania and free Professor Goh. The Voltes team then convince the Boazanians about Zu Zambajil's tyranny. As a result, the Boazanians rebel against the Emperor, while his loyalists desert en masse to save their own skins. With the Boazanians' help, the Voltes team manage to defeat Zu Zambajil's men.
