Hiyoshi Goh is one of the members of the Voltes team and one of the main characters of Chōdenji Machine Voltes V. His parents are Kentaro and Mitsuyo Goh, and his brothers are Kenichi and Daijiro Goh. He is also the half-brother of Prince Heinel. Kenichi, Daijiro and Hiyoshi are half-Boazanians. His Volt Machine is the Volt Frigate.
Personality[]
In the earliest episodes, Hiyoshi wanted to enjoy his youth as a child by engaging in activities like boat racing, which earned the ire of Kenichi one day when he chose to attend a boat racing competition the same day the Boazanians launched an attack. Hiyoshi also has a drive for innovation and invented a robot named Tako for aiding the Voltes team (amongst other mundane things like making coffee) but this went unappreciated by his teammates, especially Kenichi who, in a fit of rage, threatened to shoot Tako with his gun, despite Hiyoshi's cries for him not to. However, later in the same episode, Hiyoshi himself disassembled Tako to fix his volt cruiser, apologizing to him beforehand. Afterwards, his teammates began appreciating him more, and in future episodes he would show more dedication to his missions.
Hiyoshi has been interested in mechanics, robotics, and electromagnetism since a very young age, and is considered a genius by many university professors. The youngest Goh sibling, he is also the most cheerful, but at the same time he has never experienced the warmth of his father as Professor Goh left when he was still a baby. Due to this, the team often treats him as a naive kid, much to his dismay.

Hoyoshi has brown hair and black eyes. He has thin eyelashes. His civilian outfit is a blue and white sailor suit that includes a hat.

Kenichi[]
While Kenichi and Hiyoshi are brothers, they tend to fight from time to time. In episode 6, he subjected Hiyoshi to a verbal smackdown and threatened to shoot his invention, Tako, because he blamed it for Hiyoshi's volt machine being stuck. However, this was the only notable instance of a disagreement between the two, and in later episodes Kenichi is seen encouraging Hiyoshi and being a father figure to him.
Megumi[]
In the earliest episodes, while the Go brothers and Ippei enjoyed making fun of Megumi (which often caused her to lose her temper and act irrational), in later episodes Hiyoshi would warm up to her. Hiyoshi views Megumi as a big sister and sometimes uses "nee-san" when he's talking to her. When Megumi used her Koga-Ryu ninja style to pick up fish, Hiyoshi told her she was cheating, but she laughed at him.

- Hiyoshi's hobby is boats/the sea; he often constructs and builds boats, and his civilian outfit is a sailor's uniform. His other hobbies are technology and inventions.
- Hiyoshi's battleship, Mikasa, is named after the pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) in the late 1890s headed by Togo Heihachiro.
- "Mikasa" is a common name for battleships in popular culture due to it's significance in Japanese history. Another mark of it's significance in popular culture is the fact that the female protagonist from Attack on Titan, Mikasa Ackerman, is named after the vessel.
- Hiyoshi's battleship, Mikasa, is named after the pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) in the late 1890s headed by Togo Heihachiro.
- Hiyoshi has the same voice actress as Ri Katherine.
- Hiyoshi is the only one of the Go brothers who resembles Mitsuyo as they have the same hair colour. Kenichi and Daijirou have black hair and La Gohl's is purple. However this could be due to recessive genes, as La Gohl's father had black hair.
