This article is about a/an character in Chōdenji Machine Voltes V.

Lozaria is the first wife of La Gour and the mother of Prince Heinel.

Personality[]

Lozaria was kind-hearted and sweet, and never held hatred for anyone in her heart, not even after her husband revealed that he was secretly a hornless Boazanian. She believed that society should be indiscriminate in how it treated people, in stark contrast to the man her son would grow up to be.

History[]

Lozaria was engaged to La Gour. On the night of their honeymoon, he revealed to her that he was a hornless Boazanian and he wore prosthetics to hide it. She told him it wouldn't make a difference to her.

After the death of the emperor, there was a debate about who was going to become the next emperor. The two candidates were La Gour and his cousin Zu Zambajil. Upon his ascension to the throne, Zu Zambajil exposed La Gour at the last second, and threw him into a dungeon. He also had Lozaria forcibly taken away from him. La Gour then became a slave, and he learned that Lozaria died after giving birth to a boy. The slaves then revolted. Most of them were killed, but La Gour escaped to Earth.

After Lozaria's death, Heinel was raised by his maternal grandparents, the only people in his life who ever showed him love. They never told him about his father because of the same attached to his name for being a "traitor". However, he was given a dagger by her before her death, that had twin doves on it.

In episode 40, vowing revenge for Katherine's death, Heinel prays to the statue of the Boazanian hero Godor. To prove his "purity of intent" to him, Heinel jumps into the flames. As he plunges, he lands in a cockpit, and realizes that the statue was actually a giant mecha, and an automated message plays saying that he grants his power to anyone who wishes to defend Boazania. Heinel then locates Voltes V and engages in a battle, which eventually results in Voltes V toppling over Godor. The Voltes V team are shocked to discover that Heinel was the one who had been piloting it.

However, he then tosses a sword at Kenichi and challenges him to a fight, despite Kenichi telling him the fight is pointless. The two engage in a swordfight, and as they both break their swords, Heinel yells that the fight isn't over yet and pulls out a dagger. Kentaro instantly recognizes it and asks Heinel where he got it, to which Heinel responds by saying that it doesn't matter and he can't distract him. However, he does say that it is the dagger his mother gave him before she died. Kentaro then says it does matter because it is the dagger he gave to his first wife, and says it has twin doves on it. Horrified, Heinel looks at the dagger, notices the twin doves, and realizes that Kentaro is right. He feels ashamed that he had been participated in a meaningless war against his family.

Just then Zu Zambajil appears, having tried to escape with a load of riches and a grenade. Once he realizes that he is cornered, he attempts to shift the blame to Heinel, saying that the earthlings should hate him since it was his idea to invade Earth (even though it wasn't). Angered, Heinel yells "What?! I thought you were on the side of good, but you're just a materialistic bastard! DIE!!!" and flings the dagger at him, killing Zambajil. Unfortunately, Zambajil accidentally drops the grenade in the process, causing it to explode and engulf the castle in flames. Heinel then saves Kenichi from the fire and willingly accepts his death, but not before biding a farewell to his newfound family, depsite Kenichi screaming "brother" at him and trying to save him. Kentaro also acknowledges Heinel as his son before the flames swallow him whole.

Relationships[]

La Gour[]

Lozaria was La Gour's first wife. She and Gour loved each other very much. When Lozaria assured him that she would love him despite his lack of horns, they embraced, Gour told her of his dream to one day see a society where both horned and hornless Boazanians would live together in peace. Shortly after they married, Lozaria gave birth to a baby boy, Heinel. Unfortunately, as La Gour was imprisoned at the time, he would never get to meet his firstborn son and only found out about him after hearing that Lozaria died in childbirth. He didn't make the connection that Heinel was his son until Heinel produced a dagger his mother had given him, which Gour recognized as the one he had given to Lozaria as a gift.

Heinel[]

Lozaria died giving birth to Heinel. However, she gave him something to remember her with, a dagger gifted to her by La Gour with twin doves on it. Heinel keeps it with him at all times.

Trivia[]

  • Some translations spell her name as Rosalia.
  • Heinel inherited his hair colour/style from Lozaria.
  • In a way, Lozaria is responsible for causing the death of Zambajil. Had she not given Heinel the dagger, Zambajil would have survived (if the grenade didn't kill him first)
